MODULE 01 · CAPSTONE DELIVERABLE
Retail Business Analytics Assignment
Apply all six chapters to one realistic business brief. Produce evidence-based deliverables that could be reviewed by a business sponsor.
Diagnose a retail sales decline
August net revenue was ₹10,00,000; September net revenue was ₹8,00,000. Build a business-ready investigation plan and explain your recommended next steps without assuming causation.
What you must submit
The same assignment is developed progressively through the six lessons. Submit one coherent document or workbook with four clearly titled sections.
Business problem statement
Describe the revenue movement, the business decision, scope, success criteria and boundaries. Explain which claims are supported by observed data and which remain hypotheses.
Stakeholder map and interview plan
Identify the sponsor, commercial manager, finance owner, data engineering contact and other relevant parties. For each, describe information needs, ownership, one or more discovery questions and approval responsibility.
KPI dictionary and baseline measures
Define revenue, order count, average order value, conversion and two other suitable metrics. State formula, numerator, denominator, population, source and reporting period. Include validated August/September results and at least one relevant chart.
Business analytics requirements brief
Document objectives, scope, assumptions, constraints, data requirements, quality gates, acceptance criteria, findings, caveats, recommendations and next actions with owners.

Reference calculations for self-review
Use these after attempting your own work: total revenue change −20%; order volume 500 to 400; average order value ₹2,000 both months; online accounts for 80% of the total revenue decline; session conversion moves from 5.00% to approximately 3.67%. These values are intentionally reproduced in the fictional downloadable datasets.
